Compassionate Care for Life's Most Difficult Transitions

Melissa Morrissette, LCSW, End-of-Life Doula

ABOUT ME
MY MISSION

Hi, I'm Melissa. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in grief, bereavement, narcissistic abuse recovery, and associated issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I provide virtual therapy throughout Louisiana.

My path has been shaped by both education and lived experience. I was raised by a parent with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and later spent 12 years married to someone with the same diagnosis. Leaving and learning to be healthy and happy was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Along the way I decided to go back to school, and become a therapist so I can help other people like me. Last year, when I lost my mom I realized how poorly we allow people to process grief in our society and became a Certified Grief Informed Professional. I think it's important to recognize that we don't move on from grief, but we can move forward.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans and my Master of Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans. I hold doula certification through the International End-of-Life Doula Association in addition to being a certified Level 2 Reiki Practitioner.

I believe therapy should be a collaborative, trust-based journey where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, expressing your emotions, and finding ways to grow and move forward, even during the darkest of times.

Whether you are seeking therapy or end-of-life services, I am here to create space for honest conversations, true connection, and care that honors your unique values, wishes, and journey.
